Hello everyone, I am a friend of Ivan Liu and I want to share his story to seek help for his family.
Ivan Liu, aged 35, was a kindhearted and family-oriented man who migrated to the US in 2016. Despite his struggles, he worked tirelessly to support his family back in Guangdong, China, ensuring he sent home money each month to cover their medical expenses. To achieve this, Ivan took on a variety of jobs, from construction to being a mechanic, Uber driver, and a dasher. He often slept only three hours a night, maximizing his waking hours to earn for his family's needs.
Ivan's family faces health challenges in the countryside in China. His mom suffers from a leg injury requiring medication, his dad is recovering from a stroke, and his grandma is older and needs daily medication to maintain her health. Ivan lived frugally, limiting his spending on himself and saving every possible dollar for his family. Beyond essentials like gas and food, he ate mainly one meal a day and had no furniture other than a mattress on the floor and a chair in his rented room.
On May 11, 2024, Ivan was found unresponsive in his room. He passed away due to Hemopericardium, a ruptured myocardial infarction, and a thrombus in his right coronary artery. Ivan's sudden death has left his family heartbroken and struggling to afford their medical expenses. They are considering quitting their medications just to survive.
