Help Ivy get Gender Confirming Surgery
Donation protected
Ivy needs your help.
Having never been comfortable in her body, or really felt like it fit her, she began transitioning 9 years ago. That's a long time to feel like your body isn't your own. It is increasingly important that she get this necessary series of procedures done, hopefully within the year to avoid incurring further costs, and further mental distress. These gender affirming procedures are also life affirming, and will increase Ivy's quality of life in ways that cannot be quantified. She is finally in a position in her life and job to make this happen, but she needs some help from her community to cover the costs.
The medical roadmap is two surgeries spaced six months apart and it’s important that they can both happen this year in order to avoid incurring another deductible and the out of pocket cost resetting next year. With insurance the surgeries are set at $4000.00 max out of pocket per calendar year.
Here are some of the additional costs that need to be covered:
Lodging - Ivy will need to stay in Spokane for two weeks each time with her caregiver.
Recovery Time Expenses – 6-8 weeks recovery 2x means she will not be working and will need our support to pay rent, bills, food, and medication.
The amount being asked for in this campaign may go up or down. Hopefully down! If everything can be done this year it will be around $4,000 less. But much of the above costs still need to be determined. Ivy's consultation with the surgeon is in late May. After that she can begin scheduling things and figure out a more accurate total.
Please like/share this campaign and thank you for anything you can contribute to help Ivy feel like herself in her skin!
