Help Izzy and His Family Through This Crisis

On Sunday, March 16, 2025, Israel “Izzy” Gwinner, a 16-year-old young man was traveling home after attending Sunday Morning Church service at his home church Turning Point Church in Maysville, KY when he wrecked his vehicle in a life-changing accident. His mother Becci Ivy, a nurse, got an alert on her phone from his watch letting her know there had been an accident, she pulled up on the site of the wreck to find the paramedics actively working on her boy. Izzy was life-flighted to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where the staff and medical team immediately began working to save his life. As the family arrived at the hospital doctors initially gave little hope to them, but said they were giving him every medication and treatment possible to help keep him alive.

As the news began to spread, churches and communities have pulled together to pray for a miracle. Izzy has been given little to no chance of recovery by the medical team, but we know that God has the final say in all things. As Luke 1:37 says “For with God nothing shall be impossible”. We trust that God is going to perform a miracle for Izzy. This miracle could be an earthly one or a heavenly one.

This sudden devastating accident has been complicated and will continue to present further events that will be burdensome to the family. Becci is a single mother of 3, who is working and is currently in school full-time. To say this accident is a burden in every aspect of her life would be an understatement.

There are times in our lives when we are all given the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to others, this is one of those moments. Anything and everything that you can do to help this precious family in their time of need will be a true blessing to them. As the family sits in the hospital contemplating all the questions of what if, how come, what’s next, and why, let’s bind together and be the hands and feet of Jesus in this moment for them. This road is not an easy one to travel, it’s something that no one ever dreams of having to go down, but here these precious people are going down the road we wish no one would ever have to go down. Let’s help lift a small portion of this monumental burden this family currently has weighing them down.
