Help Izzy - Urgent dog surgery needed
Donation protected
I am fundraising on behalf of Izzy - a female Rottweiler, and her owner in my neighbourhood. Izzy is a well-known dog due to her infectious friendliness, love and obedience, with her whole life ahead of her.
She is a very sweet 2 year old dog, who unfortunately has been dealt a brutal hand. The owner has recently found out that Izzy was part of an improperly bred litter, with her mum's owner forcing the Diethylstilbesterol Pill (dog's morning after pill) on her. And as a result now faces life-changing health issues.
She is in need of two TLPO surgeries, on both of her legs, and due to the nature of the condition, the sooner she is treated, the less likely she is to become unable to walk, and subsequently have to be put to sleep. Without these surgeries Izzy faces a rapid decline and the owner will eventually face a very dark reality. Izzy is already becoming restricted in many ways, including walks, sometimes unable to endure even 15 minutes on the block.
Having these procedures done will mean that her mobility will slowly be built back up, and she will be able to make full use of all her legs without compensating heavily on other joints. The quote from the vet is £3500 per surgery (2x needed), so our target is to get the first surgery over the line as quickly as possible, and this will allow the owner to raise funds for the second surgery in approx. 12x months. If you can donate, thank you! If you are unable to, please share far and wide (it's free!).
