Help J Celebrate Graduation!
Donation protected
My name is J and I am a Black Queer + Trans public scholar graduating with my PhD in May 2023. Like many low-income graduate students, I have not been on a vacation that wasn't tied to an academic conference in over eight years. I've been through a lot while working on my PhD. In January 2021, I was rear-ended by a distracted driver and began physical therapy. Ten months later I was hit by a drunk driver and have been in physical therapy twice a week ever since. I've had to juggle completing my dissertaion, all while navigating this new reality of being disabled and trying to get care. Despite having all this on my plate, I've maintained an active role in my community of Buffalo, New York. Using my knowledge and expertise to give back through digital activism.
To celebrate such a huge accomplishment, I've decided to go to Costa Rica. I initially planned to wait until after I got a job offer to ask for support, but I found the perfect hotel and don't want to lose it. I am humbly requesting your support to get to Costa Rica. No donation is too small or too big. Any amount donated over the goal will be used to purchase my doctoral graduation regalia and buy a suit for graduation. If you would prefer to donate directly to me, you can do so using Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal. Any donation sent to me directly will added to this total. Thank you so much for your support
