Help JA Morales Represent Puerto Rico @ ISA World

Let's support Jose Angel Morales Latimer as he embarks on a journey to represent Puerto Rico in Brazil's ISA World Junior Surfing Championship from November 24-December 3, 2023.
At eighteen, Jose Angel has already made his mark, certified by the Puerto Rico Surfing Federation as #2 (Sub Champion) in Puerto Rico's National Surfing Circuit.
His dedication is unquestionable, having trained for this ISA World Event for over thirteen years. Despite these accomplishments, he's not resting on his laurels; he's in Hawaii right now, perfecting his skills with one of the most highly regarded coaches.
The stakes are high, as the ISA World Junior Surfing Championship is the year's most prestigious surfing competition globally. The event's significance is further underscored by the fact that thirty-three out of forty Olympians in Tokyo 2020 competed in this very championship before their Olympic journey. And this year, it all goes down at Prainha/Macumba Beach, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Jose Angel is an endorsed Puerto Rico Surfing Federation member and a standout performer in PR's regional circuit. He's not slowing down, with four national stops remaining on the 2022-2023 national circuit. JA is showcasing significant improvement with his technique in tubular waves, like those in Puerto Escondido, Mexico. He's living his goal, already in Hawaii, to refine his skills to meet this event's demands. His courage in giant waves is commendable, evidenced in the last National Parade at Wilderness Beach in Aguadilla, facing off with Open Men's category athletes in 10 to 15-foot storm surges.
Yet, all these achievements and future aspirations come with a price. The equipment essential for this sport, like boards and fins, along with travel and training costs, is steep. That's where this GoFundMe comes into play. We're not just asking for donations; we're inviting you to be part of Jose Angel's journey, to stand with a promising athlete who, with your help, can reach the heights he's striving for.
Your money will go towards these needs,
1. New Surfboards (for Brazil surf conditions), 500 x 2 ($1,000)
2. Flight, round trip ($2,500)
3.Surfboards on flight and luggage on flight $450 x 2 ($900)
4. Food for 14 days Nov. 20 - Dec. 4 ($1,400)
5. Accommodation, Hotel for 14 days ($1,800)
This campaign is about more than just funding. Jose Angel Morales is a living testament to where dedication and support can lead, and your contribution can cement his status as an inspiring example for all young dreamers.
