Help Jaci Sikes with Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hi Everyone. As you may have heard (or seen the flyer), there is a Softball benefit for Jaci Sikes later this month. I have had some people ask how to donate to help her if they aren’t involved in the softball world, so I’m setting up this gofundme as an option to do so.
As an introduction, my niece, Jaci, was playing in a Co-ed softball game last month when she was hit in the face by a line drive. As a precaution, she had a CT scan to check for facial fractures. While it showed a couple of hairline fractures to the cheek bone, the scan unexpectedly showed a tumor on her brain. It is called a meningioma and is almost always benign, but the size is substantial, so it must be removed. Surgery is scheduled for September 27th. Luckily, Jaci has health insurance through her job as an ER nurse, but because the surgery is so complex, expenses beyond what the insurance will cover is quite significant. In addition, she will be out of work for at least six weeks and possibly much longer. We feel very lucky that the tumor was found – even if in the most unusual way. In addition, we are blessed and extremely thankful for everyone who has reached out asking to help. If you feel compelled, feel free to donate. Otherwise, we ask for prayers for her as she goes through this surgery and recovery. Thank you!
