Help Jack become a successful Australasian PGA Tour player
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Robert McLeod. My wife Carol and I are raising funds for our son Jack who has realised his dream of becoming an Australasian PGA Tour player.
Jack was born profoundly deaf in both ears. We were told that he would never reach intelligible speech. Jack struggled through school but excelled in all sports holding Australian records in the AWD category for athletics and swimming.
With the help of cochlear implants and many years of therapy that enabled him to hear (not like you and I) and learn to speak he has successfully achieved a Diploma in Sports Development, become a PGA Professional at Mona Vale Golf Club and finally after 126 gruelling holes of golf at Tour School received his Australasian PGA Tour Card. We believe that Jack will be the only tour player in the world who is deaf and uses cochlear implants to hear.
We are overjoyed at his determination and success however the costs involved are high; he is budgeting for between $1500- $2000 per event on the Australasian Tour, while still having to pay his normal living costs, rent etc.
We are seeking support to help cover travel and accommodation, assistance with coaching and other support team costs as well as allowing him to maintain his rented room while he is away.
