Help Jackie Fight Cancer

June White here with the help of my son in-law Jay, fundraising on behalf of my sister Jacqueline who is battling stage 4 cancer for the 2nd time.

Jacqueline Dunne, Jackie as we call her is a beautiful person who is very close to our hearts & has unfortunately been diagnosed with cancer again, after beating it already just a little over 2 years ago, in that time she also lost her youngest child, her son Kevin, 23.

This time round, the cancer is a stage 4 head & neck squamous cell carcinoma. In layman's terms, it's a tumour blocking her food pipe, which has progressed & has completely blocked her throat, she is no longer able to eat, drink or swallow, her weight has dropped dramatically due to this & she relies solely on a feeding tube for nutrients.

After 6 rounds of intense chemotherapy & immunotherapy, the tumour is not responding. It has since progressed & has attached to her spine, therefore eliminating any chance of surgery to remove it.

The family have found a doctor in Portlaoise, Dr Stewart, who specialises in Vitamin C IV intake, which helps build your immune system to fight any infection

This IV intake is a high strength Intravenous Vitamin C therapy used to help boost the immune system by supplying the body with optimum doses of Vitamin C, which bypasses gastric absorption issues, thus improving overall strength & health whilst also combating fatigue, leading to a better quality of life.

Unfortunately, this treatment is not cheap, working out at €300 for each session. We would all also like to seek a second opinion from the Care Oncology Clinic (C.O.C.) in London, which costs €600 for a consultation, The COC Protocol is an individualized therapeutic approach that seeks to simultaneously target multiple cancer pathways. The COC Protocol may be considered in patients with cancer alongside conventional cancer treatments

What we would like to do is take away any financial strain from Jackie and her husband Anto.

Anto unfortunately is also currently unable to work due to recovering from a very serious life-threatening vehicle accident in May

Any donation for this treatment for Jackie, will be greatly appreciated by us all, her family & friends, who love her very much.

Jackie is the most caring person & puts everybody else first always, even now when she is unable she still does it.

Jackie is only a young 60 year old lady who wants to be able to enjoy all her time with her daughters, Lynsey, Amanda, Hazel, her husband Anto and her amazing grandchildren in comfort, the treatment will ensure this happens.

The consultation will give Jackie & all of us hope, we appreciate it is very close to Christmas but no matter how little anyone can contribute, it is very much appreciated by us all, thank you.

Update 21/12/23 :

Results from Jackie's appointment today, the scan shows the tumour has not grown or spread, only the lymphnode has gotten slightly bigger.

They're not worried about her lungs. The plan is to see if more radiation is possible (newer radiation can be used to target only the cancer).

If this is not possible, chemo is an option but no guarantee and it will cause more sickness.

In the meantime we will continue with the Vitamin C treatment in Portlaoise, make an appointment with Care Oncology (London) and do the hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
