Help Jackson through his Brain Injury
Donation protected
Jackson is a bright, kind, loving and adventurous boy who suffered a horrible accident that I wish on no parent.
4 days after Christmas, he was at a friends house and they were riding all of the next Christmas presents. About an hour into playing, Jackson was struck by a car, who was quite possibly speeding in a residential neighborhood. He suffered a serious head injury, a fractured skull and Traumatic Brain injury in which he is still recovering.
he has been in a lower level vegetative state and is unable to communicate with us or the staff at this time. He is awake and can sometimes offer emotional response to certain stimulus but it’s not yet consistent. The doctors are hopeful that he will make a very major recovery at some point, but nobody is able to speak to his outcomes in the way of cognitive function or disability.
He is making what seems to be, small improvements everyday, even if it seems stalled.
The plan was to send him to Charlotte NC for inpatient rehab for at least 4 weeks. This plan has not been able to be worked out because of insurance. So we are left having to work with providers to come up with an alternative plan for him.
Carillion is doing everything they can while he is here. Working with him through Speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy.
everyday shows so improvement with his scores and functionality.
Jackson is literally one of the kindest boys alive. He lights up a room with his exuberant presence and loves all living things. He’s strong willed and determined to do all the things he sets out to do, so it’s obviously very hard for us to see him in this state, which is why we are coming to you for your help.
To ensure his recovery, we are asking you, our friends, you the compassionate strangers, to help us make it through the next 12 months.
As his father, I have stepped away from commuting to fulltime work so that I can participate fully in his recovery now, and long after he gets to go home.
We have been told of the costs of supplies, medications, help with transportation and various others expenses unseen.
This is a critical time in his recovery, where even in uncertainty, there is hope. We are staying focused on his healing, our own wellness and the ability to have the resources necessary to give him the absolute best care possible.
Thanks to the 100’s of folks who have reached out to offer support and love. For all of the meals, and hugs. For the shoulders to cry on and the availability of friends on the other end of the phone. We are blessed by you all.
if you know Jackson, you know that he’s in there, eager to get himself moving again and we need your help in this period to make sure that is realized for him and us.
Thank you in advance for the loving support of our beautiful son. We trust that all will work out as it’s supposed to and he will receive the absolute best care that he can.
we love you all. ❤️
