Recently, Jackson Pianos was the victim of a stupid crime - one or more individuals stole three air conditioning units off their roof.
Here's the story from Joe Jackson, the owner:
"Monday morning I found the rebuilding room and cleaning room very warm when I arrived at work. Lo and behold, when I climbed on the roof I didn’t see my three ac units, but instead, three piles of torn up metal and gashes all over my new roof where the burglar slashed my roof apart.
It looked as if each machine had been hit with a bazooka. My heart felt like it fell off the ladder and splattered on the asphalt.
We devote so much of our time focusing on helping people in need. If they had just asked for help we would have given it, but instead they caused tens of thousands of dollars of damage for a couple hundred dollars of scrap copper.
Being that we work on sensitive instruments means we had to go into high gear to move massive instruments around in order to protect them and create a safe environment for our clients' possessions.
All three units need to replaced and a roofer needs to be hired to repair all the damage to the roof and building where they ripped free the copper hold downs tearing steel and brick."
