Help Jackson Recover from a Broken Femur & ACL
Donation protected
Hi, Clare Chapman here. Jackson is one of my best friends and ski buddies. He is a ski instructor and soul shredder at Alta. On January 17th, he was involved in a ski accident at Alta. He broke his femur and fibula, and he tore multiple ligaments in his knee. He had surgery on January 18th at the University of Utah hospital to place a rod through his femur; this surgery went well. He's now in the hospital waiting for surgery on his patella. After a few more weeks, he'll be back in for surgery to repair ligaments in his knee. The medical expenses just for these hospital procedures are a lot, but he's going to need a lot more help than that. He'll be missing months of work/income, and will require physical therapy as well.
The outpouring of love from friends, family, and coworkers has been incredible so far. The ski community certainly knows how to show up for one another. Jackson is a beam of positivity, determination, and fun at Alta. If you've ever skied with him, you know how encouraging and enthusiastic he is; he wants everyone to find love and self-assurance through skiing. This will be a difficult recovery mentally and physically, and it's great to know how much support he has. Anything you can contribute will help this soul skier find his way back to the mountain.
