Help Jacob and his family through his long recovery

Hi, my name is Bianca Kemp and I am raising money for Jacob and his family.

On Saturday 29th March 2025, it started with Jacob going for a ride. Jacob always told his mum, he knows to wear his helmet and to stop telling him every time he left the house but she never did. Without that helmet he would not be here today!

An accident happened in Wellington Point where Jacob and a car met paths.

He has a lot of significant injuries, breaks and fractures and a long road ahead to get walking again but his helmet saved his life! After a long emergency surgery on Saturday, going through the night, Jacob thankfully woke up. But the journey to recovery will be hard and a long road. Right now Jacob is at the Queensland Children's Hospital where he will stay for many weeks to come. He has metal rods in his legs and will be needing around the clock care. Then the gruelling rehabilitation to start to learn how to walk again. Meanwhile, his family are traveling and taken turns to be with him at the hospital. This is where you come in...

This will be a BIG financial hit to the family! Our medical system is supplemented, but the ongoing costs and normal bills do not get subsidised. If we can help take some of the stress of this family shoulders, so they can focus on Jacob and his sister, giving them much needed time and space together. Well then its well worth it!

I do want to add a note from Jacobs mum Karen;

The road is unpredictable, other vehicles are unpredictable and cyclists might not see a car coming from behind a parked car or a driveway if it is a blind spot and going fast. Anything can happen in a second. There are so many ebikes and scooters and they are fast. Please keep them safe and know you did everything you could to keep them safe once they ride away. You do not want to get that phone call to say your child has been hit by a car.
