I am Annie Soller, Jacob Carbajal's Aunt. Here is Jacobs story.
On 30 Nov, Jacob had an aneurysm that was caused by an undiagnosed Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM). An AVM is something you are born with, and is a defect that causes arteries and veins to bleed in the brain unexpectedly. Jacob bled into three of his lobes, which then caused him to have a massive stroke on the right side of his brain, mostly in the temporal lobe. An AVM is not caused by anything in particular, it is normally there at birth but typically goes undiagnosed until something like this happens. Jacob is a bit of a rare case that he would have a rupture at such a young age (22). He had brain surgery on 1 Dec to get the AVM out and to relieve the bleeding, but by then the stroke had already occurred.
The great news here is that he survived the aneurism and stroke, there is no more AVMs left, and he is young and otherwise healthy so we know he will recover to 100%! It will take time, but we are committed to helping him however possible to get him right back to where he was. We are already seeing tremendous improvement, mostly because of Jacob’s strong will, wonderful sense of humor, fantastic personality and strength of character.
With your help, we can take some of the financial burden from Jacob Carbajal and his family, so they can focus solely on his rehabilitation and the second surgery he will need.
Please continue to keep my wonderful nephew and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
God bless you
