Help Jacob Dimmick Overcome Stage 4 Cancer

Hello, my name is Jacob Dimmick. I am 42 years old and I live in Menomonee Falls, a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In December of 2023, my father was scheduled to have two stents put in his chest as he had a couple of blocked arteries. Well, he never made it out of the hospital that day. He ended up dying of a heart attack. It was very tragic to me as we were living together and were very close. He was beginning to retire from a career in landscaping and was in the laborers' union for the last ten years of his career.

Then the next April came, and I was having bad pain in my lower back and frequent blood in my stools. I was no longer able to stand up for long hours at work; the pain was too intolerable. I went to the doctor and had a colonoscopy at the end of April. By May, I was being told I have stage 4 colorectal cancer that has spread to my liver. How could this be? I'm 41 years old and have cancer. I was terrified. I'm not married and I do not have any children. My father, who was my right-hand man, just died. I was really scared and feeling alone. I did 4 months of chemotherapy. Then, on my birthday in November of 2024 I had surgery , my whole colon was removed and an ileostomy bag put on my stomach that I will now have to live with for the rest of my life. Jump ahead to February 10th, I went into surgery to have a procedure called a microwave ablation . This is where they blasted the tumor on my liver with some sort of laser or radiation. With the tumor being an odd shape the doctor is unsure if all of the cancer was hit. We are keeping a close eye on it thru CT scans and MRI's. My liver is starting to get fatty and it is making it difficult to view the tumor. I am now doing my last of 12 rounds of chemo therapy. The chemo is beginning to take a huge toll on my body. That is all I know for treatment right now.

Through all this, I have been lucky to have a few people in my life that have been there when i needed it most. Going thru economic hardships is terrible n i wouldnt want anyone to have to go thru it. Especially when they are fighting such a serious disease.
