Help Jacob's fight and recovery from a brain tumour
Donation protected
In December '24, Jacob was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour at 3 months old (a choroid plexus papilloma). The first few months of Jacob's life, he was such a content, smiley baby, who (I swear) pretended to sleep when he heard his 4 year old sister, Ada enter the room .
Jacob's tumour triggered the production of fluid in his head causing Hydrocephalus. He underwent 7 surgeries to try and alleviate the pressure through external drains and internal shunts. He also experienced weekly rounds of chemotherapy to try and slow the growth of the tumour. Unfortunately, the internalised shunts kept blocking, and his body couldn't handle all the fluid being produced. The tumour also continued to grow.
In February '25, Jacob had an embolization surgery, and 3 surgeries to remove most of the tumour. These surgeries were over 14 hours each time, and were a massive demand and risk on his little body. Jacob remains in hospital where he is slowly recovering.
Our world was shattered in December, but our boy has continued to show everyone his strength, he is incredibly resilient and an absolute fighter.
Jacob will most likely be disabled as he grows up due to the trauma his brain has experienced, to what extent is very unknown. Like any parent, we want to give him everything we can, give him every chance to thrive and experience joy and happiness. This will involve physiotherapy, cognitive therapy, equipment, support - and alot more that at this point in time we have no idea about. As a family we understand Jacob's journey is going to tough but he is our boy and we want to give him the world.
We would be eternally grateful for any donations to help Jacob, and to help relieve some financial pressures we are feeling as a family during this time. Thank you xxx
