Help Jade Go To The DNC!

Hi, I’m Jade! As the Valley Regional Chair of the Virginia Young Democrats, Treasurer of the Blue Ridge Young Democrats chapter, two time former candidate for the state legislature, former vice mayor of Glasgow, Va, and cradle to coffin Democrat, you’d be hard pressed to find someone my age more dedicated to the success of the Democratic Party’s policies. In 2024, as anxieties about November loom large, the Democratic Party needs an injection of my particular flavor of youthful, inspired energy more than ever.

This past Spring, I was elected by the 6th Congressional District Democratic Committee with over 90% of the vote to be one of our delegates at the Democratic National Convention this August in Chicago. This event features deciding our party platform, hearing from high profile speakers from across the nation, and choosing who will ultimately be our Democratic nominee in the Presidential election.

This immense privilege and honor does not come without costs, however. After budgeting for accommodations, travel, and other incidentals, the cost of attending convention in Chicago will be about $3,000. Costs like these are often a barrier to political participation for working class young people, and I am no different.
