Hello all! My name is Jade and I currently live in dallas. I moved out on my own recently with my new job and it’s been wonderful. I really thought The job was a perfect fit for me. The only downside was my manger who showed many signs of not liking me. I’m used to this behavior as a fat black person, so it was easy for me to ignore. On Monday I called in because I didn’t have a ride to get back home from Austin to Dallas. When I returned to work yesterday she fired me on the spot. She started off saying it’s because of my call out, but once I questioned her actions she admitted and I quote. “I just don’t think you’re a good fit here.” I tried to get the owner to help the situation but he insisted that there is nothing he can do and even tried to offer me a letter of recommendation as cover a up. I’m so devastated and hurt by this loss, but im mostly hurt that I even had to deal with this in a place of work. The funds will help with groceries and bills until I find a new job this upcoming week. Thank you.
