Help Jahnesa and Lance receive an AED

My name is Anki Jones, and I have two beautiful, unique, and brilliant children. Unfortunately, both of my children, Jahnesa, 17 and Lance, 8, have been diagnosed with a heart condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, also known as HCM, has been life-changing and impactful in several ways. Jahnesa and Lance, who previously excelled in sports and other extracurricular activities, have now been limited to little to no physical activity, in addition to seeing a cardiologist regularly, taking medication for the rest of their lives, and dealing with the psychological effects of a recent diagnosis. At this time, their cardiologist has recommended that they keep an AED on their person at all times, as opposed to the more drastic option of having an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) surgically placed in them. Expenses have been overwhelming between visiting the cardiologist, electrophysiologist, medication and providing for their overall daily needs. Currently, we have well over $18,000.00 in medical expenses. The cost of the AEDs for both children will be roughly $4,000.00, and we are asking those who can donate whatever they are able.
