Help Jahvis make his new film MY CULTURE
Donation protected
Hey Everyone, I am currently in the process of making my new short film called, MY CULTURE. This story is about the differences between how aboriginal culture is viewed when performed inside a theatre and when practiced and expressed in everyday society. For me and a lot of my family, we feel like the only way we ever get to express our culture is if it is performative. We want to indulge in our culture by exploring our land, which means using the land as we once did by hunting, collecting, camping, and looking after our lands. We can't do that in today's society when our land has been stolen away from us.
I believe there is a huge change that needs to happen in regards to how first nations people are allowed to express our culture, and how society should accept and encourage it. We are not just a gimic you can throw in before a live music festival, we are a living breathing culture that is older than any other on this entire planet.
If you want to support me and my films as well as support the expression and understanding of aboriginal culture, please consider donating to the go fund me to help make this story come to life. If you don't want to donate please share this video and comment, let me know what you think of the idea, I would love to hear your thoughts.
If you would like to read the script please feel free to contact me on Instagram, I would be more than happy to send it to you and talk about it with you!
