Help Jaime Cianca on his road to recovery
Donation protected
On May 17 Jaime Cianca was terribly injured in an accident at the corner of Central and Touhy Avenues. A car recklessly slammed into him causing life threatening injuries, the most serious of which was internal decapitation. Through the grace of God, he was rescued by EMS, and he survived the night. We were informed by the doctors that most with this type of injury succumb to their injuries within three hours.
Today May 19 he underwent a fusion surgery and remains intubated and in intensive care at Resurrection Hospital. Prior to surgery, Father Gudime from St. Mary of the Woods came to his bedside and blessed him in preparation for the journey ahead.
Jaime is the operator of Tuxpan Mexican Grill on Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago as well as Fiesta en Tuxpan on Oakton Street in Skokie. He is married to the love of his life Mary Colin has three children Sarah, Julissa, and JJ. They are all at his side.
Jaime is my brother in law, and Godfather to my son Max Longo, a 4th grader at St. Mary of the Woods.
Prior to today's surgery, Jaime opened his eyes, moved his arms and legs, and even wrote with a pen. The first thing he wrote was, "What Happened?" The next thing he wrote was to inquire who was running the restaurant? He is determined to survive.
This is a wonderful man, a dedicated husband, a loving father, and a provider. He has helped so many people. I am going to help him. And I wanted to give everyone the opportunity to help this wonderful person recover from this horrible siutation. His medical bills and expenses will be overwhelming.
Please do what you can to help our family through this.
