Help Jake Avoid Being Homeless for the 4th Time with MECFS
Donation protected
I need to raise 3000 for housing expenses, medical bills, and basic essentials. I don't even have clothes that fit me well currently, I am running out of basic things like shampoo and conditioner.
Breakdown of how this money would be used
- 700 in late rent payments
- 950 for next month of rent
- Seeing my neurologist who is the only doctor I have that has helped me. 200 per appt
- The rest would go to funding basic essentials as listed above, and the medications and supplements that I need to take daily.
I am a neurodivergent queer nonbinary 26 year old with a whole list of chronic illnesses. These include, but not limited to, ME/CFS (Moderate-Severe), Chiari, Occult Tethered Cord, Cranio-Cervical Instability, EDS, POTS, MCAS. For the first two years of being ill I was trapped in an abusive situation with my parents, moving around every few months trying to find somewhere safe to stay, I eventually had to go live with my Mom and step dad after being reluctant to do so out of fear of abuse, and I immediately got infected with Covid. As in the first day I was there I got infected by them. This led to a massive decline in health that persists until this day. In the time I spent living there I had begged them to take my medical conditions seriously, to help me, yet all I got was a gaslit.
Within the time I spent there, they made me homeless twice. One being the more permanent situation I am in now. I was lucky to escape, yet I do not have any income, I have no family support, and no care takers. I am on my own in this. Having just one of these conditions is enough to handle, let alone all of these on top of each other. Everyday is a struggle of managing symptoms, trying to crowdfund, and just keep myself going.
I spend the majority of my time researching (I was a researcher in neurodivergence before I was ill), and using that info to help friends out with the same conditions. I hope that one day I am well enough to do this fulltime and can give back to the community with more than just knowledge.
