Jake Shelton Lost Everyhing in House Fire

Jake woke up Sunday morning, December 15th, to the smell of smoke.  Within seconds he rushed to see what was going on when he discovered fire coming out of the vents in the ceiling of his kitchen. If anyone knows Jake, they know he was not going to just let this happen. Jake worked diligently to extinguish the flames only to find out his efforts would not be enough. This devastating chimney fire had started in the attic and had spread throughout the house within a matter of minutes. Jake quickly made his way to the closest door, but the flames and smoke made it hard to see anything. With flames all around him, Jake managed to grab his house phone and pushed his way through, narrowly escaping with his life. Jake quickly called 911 and could do nothing but watch as the flames, in his family’s child hood home, grew larger by the second. Jake had managed to escape but the danger was not over. The call came in just before 6:00 a.m. and the local fire fighter’s were there within seven minutes.  When first responders arrived on scene, they found Jake in nothing but shorts. His adrenalin was still running strong and he was attempting to move his car from the raging flames, but it was too late. Fire fighters managed to get Jake to a safe distance and upon examining him they discovered he had received several serious burns to his arm, leg, foot and back. His eyes were burning, he struggled with his breath and was on his way to a serious medical situation. Shock would soon set in and Jake was rushed to the Asheville burn center. Jake had managed to escape with his life, but his struggles are not over.

Jake needs our help, he is on his way to recovery from his injuries, but he has literally lost everything including the clothes on his back.  A lot of you have asked how you can help, and right now any donations would help get Jake back on his feet.
