Who am I?

Hello everyone, my name is Leah Williams, and I’m reaching out to you on behalf of my son, Jalen Lofters. Recently, Jalen has faced several challenges, including unexpectedly losing his job and needing to move out of his apartment by July 15. Despite these hurdles, I’m praying Jalen can turn this situation into an opportunity for personal growth, joy, and adventure.

What is the Working Holiday Program in Japan?

The Working Holiday Program in Japan offers young people the chance to live, study, and WORK in Japan for up to one year. This program allows participants to immerse themselves in Japanese culture, learn the language, and gain invaluable international work experience. It’s a unique opportunity to broaden horizons, build a global network, and gain life-changing experiences.

Why Japan?

Japan has always fascinated Jalen with its blend of ancient traditions and cutting-edge technology. Influenced by Japanese anime and culture, Jalen has been studying the Japanese language since 2015 and has always dreamt of experiencing Japan firsthand. Last year, he planned a trip to Japan, but it was unfortunately canceled. Despite this setback, he has continued to study Japanese and is eager to put his language skills to use. This experience will not only enhance his personal and professional skills but also prepare him for future career opportunities. Jalen’s excitement and joy about immersing himself in Japanese culture and sharing his experiences as a young Black man are truly infectious.

Why We Need Your Help

Due to Jalen’s recent job loss, he is unable to fully cover the expenses required to participate in the Working Holiday Program. This program would not only provide immediate employment opportunities in Japan but also greatly assist with his future employment prospects. This is a dream Jalen doesn’t want to give up on, and we are reaching out for your support to make it happen.

- Flight to Japan: $1,200

- Visa and Application Fees: $500

- Initial Accommodation and Living Expense: $2,000

- Emergency Fund: $800

- Travel Insurance: $300

- Additional Expenses: $200
