Help Jamera Rebuild After Car Accident & Fire

Jamera Barnes and Daquan Percell are new parents to Baby Orion Percell. Like many first time parents, it’s been the most beautiful yet challenging times of their lives. However, this is largely due to a series of unpredictable tragedy that began just a few days before Jamera gave birth.
On 11/4/23, Daquan was in a car accident and thrown through the windshield onto Lindbergh Blvd in Southwest Philly and miraculously survived. On 11/15/23, Jamera had to give birth as her partner was in the ICU where he remained for the next six weeks. After transferring to Advanced Care then to a 24-hr rehabilitation center, he was released on 2/11/24. Daquan has serious brain injuries where he has difficulty moving and doesn’t remember much about his life - imagine his shock when he found out he has a newborn! Currently, he’s at home with his parents relearning who he is and how to move in outpatient therapy. Meanwhile, Jamera is at home with the baby navigating parenthood alone. Not once did Jamera wonder ‘why me?’ She simply did everything she could for her new family - including rehoming their dogs, Sherlock and Watson.
On 5/5/24, things went from bad to worse when a massive fire broke out at Terrace Apartments where she & Baby Orion were living. The building is now condemned leaving Jamera and Orion among the 100+ displaced residents. And because she (understandably) fell behind on rent, property management isn’t allowing her to transfer to another property - nor will she receive her security deposit back. Consequently, Jamera and Orion have no place to go, no finances to secure a new home, and no Daquan by their side.
Jamera is the truly sweetest person you’ll ever meet and is proving herself to be quite the strongest as well. As strong as she is, she’s in dire need of help with medical bills, a new apartment, paying off her balance at her old one, formula & diapers, etc. If there’s anything you can give to help this young family whose lives have been turned upside down before it really even began, they would be insurmountably grateful.
