Help James Get His Last Surgery

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brandon and I am raising funds for my friend James and the final surgery he will need for his recovery after a severe car accident that nearly killed him.

The Accident:
On Christmas Eve in 2021, James was in a severe single-vehicle accident when his vehicle flipped multiple times landing on its roof. This kept him in the hospital for 11 days with multiple visits since. James has had numerous surgeries to save his left arm after doctors feared they would have to amputate it. Due to being a temporary worker for UPS at the time of the accident James had no health insurance to help cover these surgeries. On top of that, his car insurance was liability only so there is no coverage to cover any of James expenses or replace his car for the future. Thankfully over the last ten months his closest friends and his limited extended family that live in the US have been able to pool enough money together to keep his rent paid, lights on, and food in his belly every month. However, we have not been able to raise the additional $6,000 required for his final surgery & after-care on our own. The surgery required is to remove the steel plate left in his arm by an orthopedic surgeon. This is the last surgery James will need before he can start rebuilding his life. The doctors said it was a miracle that he survived and an additional miracle that they could even save his arm! By the time James is done recovering, it will have been over a year since his nightmare started.

James:
James is a great friend who has had a hard life and recently fell on even more challenging times. He's the type of friend who would give you the shirt off his back even if it was his last. James was forced to flee his home country alone in the middle of the night as a refugee in 2010 to escape war & natural disasters in his home country of Haiti.
He is a bright spirit who, even through the uncertainty of keeping a roof over his head, has remained positive and upbeat throughout this journey even though he didn’t know how he would survive during this time.

He has worked odd jobs over the last decade to make ends meet in the US. That was until UPS hired him as a seasonal driver last year before his accident, with a goal to become permanent. Working for UPS is one of the few high quality jobs available for refugees. His future is constantly uncertain due to the continuously changing guidelines for refugees in the US as well.
Thankfully the generosity of those who know and love James has gotten him through the last 10 months and this surgery should be his final hurdle to jump. This last one is the most difficult one to jump financially and we are hoping to hit our goal of $6,000 within two weeks so he can have this overdue surgery ASAP.

Once James fully recovers he plans to get back to working as much as possible, enjoying life again, and helping others like he used to
