Let's help Holly!

Update: thank you so much to everyone for your incredibly generous donations. I'm increasing our goal to $20,000, as Holly discovered today that short term disability will not cover her prolonged absence from work. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your generosity. The donations have helped Holly be able to focus on being at the hospital for James and taking care of her small children through this horrifically stressful time.

My name is Jessica and I've known Holly, James' wife, for nearly 20 years. When she told me that her husband, James Luevano, is in the ICU fighting for his life after doctors discovered he has necrotizing pneumonia last Sunday, I knew we had to help Holly, who has always been there for her friends when they were in need.

James is very, very ill. He will be in the hospital for many weeks, as he is on a ventilator and ECMO to allow his lungs to rest and hopefully for his body to slowly recover. He will ultimately need surgery to remove most of his right lung, and may also need a lung transplant. due to the damage from the pneumonia and will need months of rehabilitation to be able to work again.

In the meantime, Holly and her beautiful young family need our help, Holly has not been able to work since James was admitted to the hospital. Donated funds are going to Holly so that she can stay by James's side while he's fighting for his life, without worrying about having enough money to pay the bills while he is in the hospital.
