Help James Oliphant get a liver transplant

Hi My name is Heather Huggins and I am raising money to help my Dad, James "Jim" Oliphant with the cost of his liver transplant. Two years ago Dad was diagnosed with liver cancer. It was removed through surgery and he continued to get monitored. During his last follow up visit it was discovered the cancer had returned. At the end of August 2023, the 2nd round of cancer surgery was performed. He was told at that time he was going to be a candidate for a liver transplant, as his liver also has cirrhosis. After the surgery in August at UNC Chapel Hill we started the journey of becoming a transplant recipient with tons of rigorous tests. After the final MRI, Dad was told he was approved for a liver transplant but that the cancer surgery was unsuccessful and the cancer was still there and had grown, you can imagine his devastation. Dad starts radiation next week 11/13 to remove the cancer and has been placed at the TOP of the Liver transplant list. A transplant can happen any day now, and even with insurance his out of pocket expense will be upwards of $15-$20,000, not to mention the cost of traveling to Chapel Hill and all the follow up visits and hospital stays that are expected. Any amount will help us reach our goal so that he can afford the surgery without this overwhelming burden of financial stress.
