Help Jamie Dinsmore and Family

Hi everyone, my name is Katie. I am starting this fundraiser for my sister's father, to help him and his family get through a difficult time. While he is not my biological father, Jamie has been a consistent father figure to me most of my life. He and his family are very important to me and I would love to be able to help lift some of the financial burden off of them so that they can concentrate on helping Jamie heal.

On June 24th, 2021 James "Jamie" Dinsmore suffered an Acute Ischemic Left Middle Cerebral Stroke. The stroke impacted movement/feeling on his right side, his eyesight and his speech. His recovery is projected to be a long process. After being cared for at Upstate University Hospital until August 2nd, he was transferred to a sub-acute rehabilitation facility. As of August 31st, he was looking at another few weeks stay to continue receiving daily therapy until he has improved enough to where he is able to return home. Once he is discharged he will require in-house therapy and then additional outpatient therapy, once he is ready, to assist with his recovery.

We are hoping to raise funds to help the family offset the cost of daily travel expenses to and from Syracuse so that Jamie would have daily support from his wife and daughters (Covid restrictions have limited visitation to 1 person per day). Additionally, beginning on August 22nd the family started to incur a daily co-pay of $185.50 for his care at St. Camillus. The family will also need to make some necessary home modifications in preparation for Jamie's homecoming including tub and toilet rails, hand held shower head, ramps, etc.
