This Family lost everything in the Fire.

Help Jamies' family who lost everything.

My name is Qumaru Nisa, and I am posting this for my dear friend Jamie Gallo. She has endured an incredibly tough few years, culminating in the complete loss of everything her and her family owned when her home was flattened to the ground in the Pacific Palisades fire. She lived on Chautauqua Blvd, part of The Alphabet Streets.

Jamie is not materialistic. She has always cared far more about people than things. But now, her family is scattered, and they are all staying in different homes. She is temporarily staying with me in my small apartment in Los Angeles. She is a strong, selfless woman who has always helped others and would never ask for help herself. I think she’s in shock and doesn’t fully realize how much she’s going to need to get back on her feet.

Jamie literally only has the old workout clothes she was wearing when the fire happened. She lost her phone, her computer, and every cherished memory, family picture, keepsake, and memento that she had worked so hard to preserve. Everything is gone.

Jamie bought her 1926 home when most people considered it a teardown. But instead of tearing it down, she poured her heart and soul into turning it into a little jewel, doing much of the work herself. It wasn’t the most expensive or the fanciest home, but it was her sanctuary, and it took her 10 years to find a place she could afford where her kids could thrive.

Her greatest wish is to bring her family back together under one roof and help her children heal from this traumatic experience with as few scars as possible.

Just two weeks ago, Jamie dug a small hole in her backyard to bury her beloved dog, Bella, hoping to keep Bella close forever. Now, even that precious piece of her life has been taken from her.

Jamie was just beginning to start her career in real estate at Palisades Rodeo Realty, working tirelessly to give her children a brighter future. Her kids’ education at Pali High has been interrupted, and the sense of stability they desperately need is gone.
