Help Janet Vargas and Her Family

Recently Israel, the husband of Janet, who has been with us since nearly the beginning, passed away from heart failure. We at Mi Mero Mole are starting this GoFundMe to support her and their young son Chuy, pictured here, in this tough time.  The money will go towards funeral, medical, and other expenses. 

Before joining Mi Mero Mole, Janet worked at El Campesino on Powell, where we would often buy tortillas and other Mexican groceries.  She was always a pleasure to deal with and we eagerly hired her when she lost her job.

Janet, who is nicknamed Chapis, because she is, well, short,  has always been one of our best employees, a hard worker and fun to be around, supportive of all her fellow employees.  Through pregnancy and her husband's worsening health, we have tried to support her, even paying her to stay home with her husband through the pandemic so that she could lower the risk to him.

Please, if you can, donate something to help her with her expenses. If you have ever enjoyed a meal with us, it would have been in part because of her.  If we had more, we would do more, but this is a difficult time for Mi Mero Mole.  We understand it is a difficult time for many, but if you can, anything will help.
