Help Janie Recover from Surgery

Hello everyone, my name is Janie Danger. You may know me as the world renowned punk rock savant or the co-host of the greatest canceled podcast of our time Beauty Translated. Perhaps you just know me as a friendly neighborhood bartender, or bothering you as one of East Atlanta’s most buzzy barflies. That’s me! Hi!

Well, you may not be aware that on May 9th I am scheduled to get a surgery. As much as I would like for my first surgery post transition to be a sexy, gender confirming procedure. It is actually slated to be a much less sexy, but equally important, one.

I’ll spare you the poetics and say that I can’t really breathe and need to get my deviated septum fixed. It’s a relatively simple procedure but it’s still expected to have me knocked out of work for about a week.

The down payment for the surgery was 500$ and the loss from not being able to work a full week should set me back maybe [phone redacted]$ dollars. They also told me that after the down payment some other fees may be applied despite this being a necessary procedure to return my quality of life back to normal. American health care is so cool isn’t it!

This is honestly a bit humiliating for me. I’ve never had to ask for handouts like this even when things have gotten particularly dark. I have a decent amount of pride in being resilient and handling things like this myself. However, in this instance I’m recognizing this may just be outside of my complete for control and I’m asking for any help that I can get so I can get this done, rest up and return better than ever.
