Janis and Kimberly and their family have lost everything. Janis is a small business owner in Altadena whose hair business will be significantly impacted into the foreseeable future and her daughter Kimberly is a 7th grade English teacher in Glendale. They are dearest family friends for 30+ years and the most loving and kind people who have supported me and countless others over the years. They now need our help. Thank you

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

My family and I are facing the unimaginable—our home and everything we owned inside was completely destroyed in the Eaton Fire.

Our house in Altadena, where we have lived for 27 years was beloved, was a home and safe haven for three generations of our family.

We evacuated quickly at 3:45am on Wednesday morning and were only able to take our laptops and enough clothing and supplies for a few days. In hours, everything went up in flames. Our memories, family photo albums, all of our belongings, and the safe space we called home -- everything is gone.

We are still in shock. I never thought that we’d ever be in a position where I’d need to ask for help like this. You don't think it will happen to your family—until it does.

Any help, no matter the size, would make a difference for us right now. Your kindness and generosity will help us to secure temporary housing, replace clothing and essentials lost in the fire and provide support as we recover our stability.
