Help Janna's family who lost everything in a fire

A tragic fire impacted families in Cavite City, you can help at least one of them recover.
A few words from Lilet Virata, who has asked me to start this campaign.
No matter whether I am traveling domestically in the Philippines or abroad in another country, whenever someone ask me where I am from I am always proud to say that I’m from a small, happy place called Cavite City. A city that despite feeling crowded at times is somewhere where you will always be treated as family by your neighbors, and a place where people are willing to help one another whenever someone is in need. This is the main reason why it was utterly devastating for me, and many other Caviteño’s when witnessed directly or saw the news about the massive house fires sweeping across the city. Many people have watched their entire livelihoods go up in smoke and have nothing to fall back on after two years of devastation due to Covid. However, we can help some of them get back on their feet.
What Happened?
On Feb 12, 2022, there was a power outage in a built up area of Cavite City. When the power returned it seemed to overload the grid due to faulty electrical wiring and started igniting small fires that grew into an engulfing inferno. Many people suffered sustained burns, but thankfully there have been no deaths reported. However, over 700 families’ houses were set alight by the red hot flames and they were unable to save anything as they ran for their lives only to watch their houses burn to the ground.
Despite what all these people are going through now, it is incredibly humbling to see friends and family encouraging each other to stay strong. I may not live in Cavite today, but my heart will always belong to where I grew up from. Whilst it is difficult to send help to all the people impacted, I am trying to do what I can and ask for a small donation from you to help a single family that is very dear to my heart.
Meet Janna & her family.
Janna is my funny, loving, smart, & somewhat silly highschool classmate and a friend who tragically lost her house to the aforementioned fires. Janna is part of a family of five; Herself, her mother, her father, her younger sister, and her younger brother. Currently, the entire family is staying at an evacuation center at a small local elementary school with little more than donated sheets and small meals each day for comfort. I please need to call upon your kindness and donate any amount, no matter how small to help them rebuild their house and make a fresh start.
We are aiming to raise 35,000 PHP/£500 GBP/$650 USD but any donation amount will have a huge impact on helping them to rebuild. If you can’t donate then please like & share so that others may see and help out where they can.
