Support Jasmine Pemberton's Legal Battle

On Tuesday afternoon LSU student Jasmine Pemberton was arrested for a post she made on the social media platform X that was directed towards Louisiana governor Jeff Landry. Jasmine was upset that the governor had brought a live tiger into the football stadium before LSU’s last home football game. While the post was made in poor taste, it was not a credible threat by any stretch of the imagination. The post she made was a joke, but the damages that Jasmine and her family have incurred are immense and traumatizing. Jasmine is an extremely dedicated and involved student. She’s currently studying English with aspirations to attend law school and is a pivotal member of LSU’s skate club. Jasmine was subjected to two nights in jail and her bail was set at an absurd $10,000 for a crime that only incurs a $500 fine and/or up to 6 months prison time. At this stage, Jasmine’s family has sustained $4,300 of fees with more expected to come. Please consider donating to help Jasmine's situation and alleviate the financial burden that has been placed on her family!
