Help Jason crush cancer one donation at a time

Hey y'all it's Jason's little bro, Jeremy. As many of you have heard, and some of you have not, Jason was diagnosed with a skin cancer called Squamous Cell Carcinoma on his tongue.

It started out as a small irritation that felt no different than a common canker sore or ulcer. He never had any reason to think it was anything more than that. But as time went on it was not getting better. He sought assistance from various physicians but got passed back and forth with no real answers. Things finally got unbearable and he began to worry as the ulcer had gotten larger and he had started to lose weight as he could no longer eat much of anything.

Once Jason was finally guided to the right physician, they took action immediately doing a series of tests and procedures to identify the sore and figure out if the cancer had spread. The doctor was confident that his plan would be successful and Jason would be fine in a matter of months. Jason underwent the procedure that included inserting a feeding tube, a tracheotomy, cutting out 1/2 of his tongue, repairing that tissue with muscle tissue from his right arm and replacing the skin off his right arm with skin from his right leg as well as removing lymph nodes on the left side of his neck. Jason was a trooper through surgery and the doctor actually finished in under 5 hours (quicker than expected). Jason spent the next week in ICU and PCU as the medical team kept a close eye on him. After roughly 10 days in the hospital he was released to go home to continue his recovery.

Jason has done very well all things considered. He is now working on regaining his speech and continues to lose weight as he will have his feeding tube for another 3 months. He is now under 165 pounds and is working hard to keep from losing much more weight, but those shakes are not that filling. He has appointments once a week to monitor his tissue growth and attends speech therapy. He will start rounds of radiation and chemo therapy once deemed ready by his team of physicians.

As you can imagine the bills pile up faster and higher than anyone could keep up with. For those that know Jason, also know that he is not one to ask for help. So, I am making sure that he doesn't have to. Jason has an amazing support team including family, friends and his work family at AutoTire that have been so good to him. But, insurance is not covering everything and we need your help.

We are kindly asking that if you are willing and able, that you would help us reach this goal. Jason has a long road ahead of him without taking any of these bills into consideration. Any amount helps. We also ask that you add Jason to your list of prayers. We have watched God working in amazing ways throughout this entire process and know that He will help guide Jason to the finish line. We thank you for taking time to read Jason's story and we are grateful to any and all that can help us achieve this goal.

God Bless,

Jeremy Swinford & Family
