Help Jason Fight Parkinson’s

For the last 10 years Jason Lusk has been fighting Parkinson’s disease, an incurable, progressive disorder of the central nervous system that has landed him in a wheel chair and causes constant, involuntary tremors in his hands and legs.

Jason is currently hospitalized in Orange County, California and is being moved from facility to facility because he has nowhere else to go.

He urgently needs to rent an ADA-compliant apartment where he can hopefully rest up for a much-needed duopa pump surgery. This surgery will help Jason’s motor symptoms and improve his quality of life.

 Jason also needs new teeth because right now it’s difficult for him to talk and eat. In December 2018, he had a tragic accident where his rayon shirt caught fire from a candle and it burst into flames.  He was in a medically-induced coma for 3 ½ months where he sustained broken teeth from being intubated, had a tracheotomy and countless skin grafts.


If you know Jason, you know that he follows his dreams and makes them happen with determination and grit. Whether it’s competing in tandem surfing contests, moving to Hawaii, becoming a phenomenal tattoo artist or a para athlete Jiu-Jitsu world champion, he never gives up.





 He says the best advice he ever got was from the great boxing trainer Freddy Roach, who also has Parkinson’s, “to train and train hard.”

 Jason wants to continue competing in adaptive surfing and Jiu-Jitsu contests, eventually heading to the Para Olympics.  He will need an automatic wheelchair and an adapted van to get around.
