Help Jason kick cancer!
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Amy Riley. My boyfriend, Jason Knittel and I have been together for 6 years. Recently, Jason was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkin follicular lymphoma. He is only 35. This has come as a shock to us. If you know Jason, then you know he is very physically active and eats very healthy. Although, we will probably never know the actual reason, we do think he was exposed to some chemicals from work he did outdoors.
The type of cancer he has is indolent, meaning it does not respond well to conventional treatments, like chemotherapy. Almost all of our current doctors recommend chemo, despite the side effects and low success rate, only 10% at 5 years, for his type of cancer. This is a scary prospect at his young age, when we know there is inherent toxicity that comes with the administration of chemotherapy. Not to mention the potential side effects and increased likelihood of developing other cancers after completing treatment, IF it works. Another doctor thinks it would be wise to monitor it and try something different. Unfortunately, insurance will not cover anything outside of the standard of care, or conventional treatments.
With all the rising bills we have come to a place where we decided to start a GoFundMe to try and get some help with this situation. All funds donated will go towards Jason’s treatments, bills and anything not covered by insurance.
We never expected to be in this position, and any donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we will continue to update this page periodically as things progress. So please share, and check back as often as you’d like. Many thanks and much love.
