Help Jason & His Family Fight Covid

Hello Everyone! My name is Cayla and I am Jason Cornelius’ sister-in-law. Jason has been battling COVID-19. He tested positive on August 5th and was admitted to the ICU on August 12th. COVID is what started this horrible nightmare. Jason suffered from cytostorm which sent his immune system into overdrive and it began to attack the Covid virus as well as his immune system. Then his own immune system began to attack his liver(hepatitis) which prevented the doctors from giving him the two medications that could have helped. He ended up with double pneumonia which progressed to a severe case because of the hepatitis. Covid has also caused his heart to enlarge. The damage to his lungs as of now will require a lung transplant. He has the fight of his life and he will likely be in the hospital in Columbia, Missouri for well over a year.

He didn’t have health Insurance or life insurance from his current employer. Jason was also the sole income provider for his family. He has 3 children. 2 boys, Briar and Tanner and the baby girl of the family Athena. His wife and kids are completely devastated. This has shattered their whole word. There has been many times throughout this process they were told not to expect him to survive, even now the odds are not in his favor, but this man is a fighter!!

He is an Army vet who proudly served his country. He loves his family deeply.

He loves his motorcycle and being in the garage with his dad and brothers and just hanging out with his family and friends. He definitely loves life!

He’s only 37 years old with a lot of life left to live. Jason’s wife and kids have a long road ahead trying to figure out how to move forward. We wanted to set this up to try and help ease the stress of their financial situation they are now faced with. The next year travel costs for his family to get to back and forth to the hospital will be astronomical let alone the medical bills and cost of living.
