Let's Show Jason How Much We Love Him

Donation protected
We all love Jason - He's so easy to love. ♡

You may know him as The Adventurer - he's been on the go, traveling the world, for the last decade. Jason loves meeting people, seeing the world, being in nature and his two favourite things to do while traveling are to EAT and take photos. In the last 10 years, Jason has lived and worked in the Arctic, Australia, India, all over Europe and the UK, all over South East Asia (his favourite place being Chaing Mai, Thailand), South America, Mexico and he most recently settled in PEI where he lives with his girlfriend Adrianna and is the sous chef at The Inn Bay Fortune with Chef Michael Smith.

You may have met Jason over the years in Thorndale where he grew up, or in London, Toronto, Muskoka at one of the many restaurants he has worked at over the years... but regardless of how you know him, you probably first noticed his passion for photography. You may have even read his blog, https://edibleadventuretravel.com/">E.A.T (Edible Adventure Travel) where he writes about his travels and shares his incredible photography. Probably the only thing Jason loves more than photography is food! You name, he's eaten it... and his love for strange foods has taken him all over the world. He turned his love of cooking into a career at a young age, and has been making us proud ever since as he continues to grow and thrive as a professional chef, avid forager/fermenter and talented food blogger.

But the main thing you need to know about Jason is that he loves his people. Although his actual family has gotten smaller and smaller over the years; his chosen family has stayed the same. Although he's met and made friends with people from all across the globe; his best friends have been in his life for the ages. Jason loves his people more than anything - including his girlfriend and his best friends. He is beloved by his co-workers at The Inn in PEI, and continues to inspire everyone he works with and meets.

Upon meeting Jason, you've no doubt found him to be friendly, polite, courteous, generous, funny and so, so kind. But... if you've been lucky to actually get to know him... and if he's opened up to you... then you know him as a talented and thoughtful writer, an animal and nature lover and one of the strongest, most tenacious people you'll ever meet. He has been through a lot in his 32 years on the earth, and he is about to go through one of the hardest times of his life.....

On June 12th, 2021, Jason was in a very serious car accident involving another vehicle, in PEI. Both vehicles left the road, leaving the occupant of one vehicle dead (she died of cardiac arrest on route to hospital.) Jason was rushed to the hospital in Moncton with life threatening injuries and he is now on life support and in ICU.

His exact injuries are still being examined but we know that he fractured his neck in several places, and that his road to recovery will be long and difficult. As of now, he has had surgery to hopefully repair the fractures and will be closely monitored for the time being. We are not sure of the exact nature of his injuries, but they are extensive. We are not sure if Jason will ever walk again, or what his life will look like if he survives this, but we do know that he will have the love and support of his friends, co-workers, family and loved ones. Jason will need a lot during this time (including a wheelchair, lots of physio therapy, rehabilitation...) but what he needs most is your love, support and prayers.

I am asking you for help now, because Jason never would. He is, by a long shot, the most selfless person I've ever known.

If you are seeking some way to help him, please consider donating to this campaign. All funds will go directly to Jason, his care, his rehabilitation, legal fees, moving expenses, etc... and we've already got our eye on an all terrain wheelchair, so he can still go "hiking."

Thank you for your prayers. One of the most endearing things about my best friend Jason is that he really has no idea how cherished he is... I've watched him grow into a wonderful, kind man over the last 28 years, and now it's time to show him just how much we love him...

Please give and share widely. ♡
