Help Jason Nance Fight ALS!

Just a few weeks ago, my brother received some of the worst news you can possibly imagine.  After many months of doctor visits and diagnostic tests, he has been officially diagnosed with ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.  ALS is a neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.  As the disease progresses, it causes nerve degeneration and muscular atrophy which leads to the inability to walk, write, speak, eat, swallow, and breathe.  There is no cure for ALS, only treatments for the hope of slowing it’s  progression.

My family and I are starting this campaign to help Jason and his wife, Jamie, get through these difficult times.  Since Jason is now unable to work, the funds collected will contribute to the costs of medical care, mobility and transportation equipment, medications not covered by insurance, and other support needs to ensure he has the highest quality of life possible with the highest level of functioning achievable.

Jason has made an impact on many lives during his lifetime, from young football players beginning their sports careers, to keeping our communities safe with the Blount County Sherriff's Department and ATF Task Force, and his daily interactions with the patients that he served in his most recent job with Baybridge Management.
