Help Jason pay for his overseas basketball camp

Donation protected

I was 5 years old watching TV with my dad when he tuned into a basketball game. As we watched, the camera zoomed up close on a player on the court. It was almost as if I was looking him in the eyes. I told my dad that when I get on TV, I’m going to beat my chest and showboat after I score. My dad chuckled and said, “It’s going to take a lot of work to get there, and when you do, you’re not going to be focused on that.” That moment has stuck with me, and my dad couldn’t have been any more right. I fell in love with the game of basketball at that moment, and every night since, I’ve dreamed about being a professional player on TV, where a kid just as young as I was, could be inspired by my play. I’ve been playing basketball for 18 years now, and the road to reaching my goal has not been an easy one. I went from playing on my older brother’s teams when I was little, to playing on travel teams in middle school, and then to high school and AAU teams.

I continued living and pursuing my basketball dream at York College of Pennsylvania, practically living in the gym for four years. I eagerly committed to the hours, days, weeks, months, and years working on my skills, lifting weights to get stronger, studying film to become smarter, and learning from my coaching staff, all while maintaining my commitment to earn my computer engineering degree. I grew from a freshman averaging 2 points per game with 11 minutes playing time, to a senior:

Averaging 18 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.2 blocks per game
Scoring over 1000 career points and grabbing over 500 career rebounds
Shooting 53% percent from the field
Winning the CAC 2018 Conference Championship, earning All-CAC 1st team, CAC player of the year, 1st team All-Region, and 3rd team All-American (1 of 4 or ever earn the award at my school)
Participating in the Reece’s National Association of Basketball Coaches All-Star game

Now, I’m ready to go to the next level. I’ve been invited to the Europe Basketball Academy's Pro Placement program, a one-month basketball camp which I plan to attend April 2021 in Barcelona, Spain. The Academy brings in approximately 30 players each month, helping them earn tryouts and contracts with basketball clubs in Spain and other European countries. The Academy provides exposure before, during, and after the camp, using practice and game film gathered while in attendance.

Will you help me raise $5000 by April 1st?

This GoFundMe for the camp will cover:

Living Arrangements
3 meals a day
Games/Scrimmages
Facilities - including gym, training staff, weight room
Transportation to/from airport
Roundtrip airfare to Spain
Medical insurance

I am beyond grateful for any amount of money you are willing to donate, especially as I maintain great confidence that I will leave with a huge opportunity to play professional basketball at the program's end, presuming I'm able to attend in the first place. And if you are all collectively generous to the point that donations surpass the set goal, all extra funds will go towards other investments into my basketball future.

Thank you for your time and consideration. And please, DONATE AND SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS! Let's make this goal happen!

With love for you all,
Jason Bady
