Help Javier Keep His Home

I first came to know Javier, my unhoused neighbor, when I saw him attentively caring for an injured city pigeon while I was walking my dogs. Despite struggling to feed himself—Javier bought bird seed and had been taking care of the flightless bird for two weeks. See photo below. So I took her to a wildlife rehab center.

Javier's act of kindness inspired me to get to know him better and find out what his needs are.

Javier lives out of his car. He wakes up before dawn to clean windows for tips at the gas station during the AM rush, although his dream is to work at an international restaurant, get his own place, and one day adopt an animal. The car he calls 'home' needs repairs and the license and registration are expired from the previous owner. On December 1, 2020 he received a citation and fears he may eventually lose his home.
