Zack and Katie are not the kind of people who will ask for any help, they are actually the opposite, they would give the shirt off their back to anyone. Here is Jaxon’s horrid story and updates:

So, as many people already know, we had a horrible accident yesterday. We were at camp and Jax fell into the campfire. He has major 2nd and 3rd degree burns over a large portion of his body. We went to Binghamton, they transferred us to Syracuse last night and brought in an amazing burn team to clean him up and make a plan. The cleaning up took most of the night and was easily the most traumatic event of our lives. To see your child in that much pain and not be able to do anything is the absolute worst feeling there is. But, he had to be awake so he could tell them what he could and could not feel. He did great. He is such a strong dude. So, today we wait for the burn team to come back in and decide what next steps are. There are lots of next steps and he’s in for a very long painful road. Thanks to everyone who has reached out. I apologize for not getting back to people individually it’s just overwhelming and I thought posting here would be easier. A a giant thank you to everyone who was there and jumped in to help. We really are so lucky. You were all literally willing to walk through fire to save his life ❤️

Just a quick update on Jax- he’s awake, he’s hungry and he’s in a really bad mood. Today they will change all of his wound dressings ( a long painful process that is so hard to watch) and then decide when he will start skin grafting surgeries and our next course of action. They haven’t given us much more than that. It’s all pretty vague and a lot of waiting to see how things start to heal. So far we’ve heard two different scenarios. 1. We stay here for the next few weeks, while he waits on surgery and gets wound care or 2. We go home and come back to Syracuse every other day for wound care and return for the surgery. Jax is loudly voting for home, and I am privately advocating for the other. We will just have to see what they recommend and make the best of it. Either one will be hard but we can do anything ❤️ thank everyone so much for the love, vibes, and support! Our hearts hurt so it’s a sliver lining to have good people ❤️

*Update- We just met with the burn team. We will be staying here for a bit.
