Help Jaxson and Danika Overcome Accident Trauma

I'm Nicole Sulzen and my sister Alicia Carlson and I are starting this fundraiser for our nephew Jaxson Sulzen and niece Danika Sulzen. Both Danika and Jaxson were in a terrible car accident on Father's Day, Sunday, June 16th 2024. Danika was driving and luckily only sustained some minor injuries physically, but her mental and emotional state is being tested while her brother's injuries were much more severe. The emergency team arrived and had to remove Jaxson from the vehicle using the jaws of life. He was taken immediately to Banner Health Medical Center in Casper, where they found a collapsed lung and some bleeding in his brain along with the numerous gashes to his face and body. They stabilized him and he was life flighted within hours to Children's Hospital in Denver.

As of this morning, a care team of multiple doctors, care nurses, a trauma surgeon, neurosurgeon, respiratory nurse, pharmacist and nutritionist did a review of everything that has happened since the injury occurred and decided since the swelling will present itself the most over the next 24-48 hours they want to keep monitoring him using the neuro protective protocols and see if his TBI (traumatic brain injury) evolves. They did also find cerebral spinal fluid leaking out of his ear and may need to install a drain to help with that.

The doctors have mentioned Jaxson's stay will be a minimum of 2 weeks while they continue to monitor and assess and this could be much longer.

We are setting up this fundraiser to help alleviate the financial burden the children's parents will incur. With staying out of state for multiple weeks at a minimum along with health care costs and being out of work during this time, we are hoping people will be generous enough to contribute so their mothers Krystal and Laramie and their father Jeremy can just focus their time on loving Jaxson and Danika.
