Support after devastation at Apalachee High #lovewillprevail

Update: This GoFundMe was set up before the devastating events that happened on September 4, 2024. Jaxson was in one of the classrooms that were directly affected by the events . We were planning on going to London in 2025 with the Apalachee Marching band prior to this tragedy, and I am hoping to have some assistance in the financial side of it.

Jaxson was injured at the shooting and has shrapnel lodged in his thigh. The shrapnel is too deep to remove, and will forever be inside his leg unless he has issues. At that time, he will have to have a very intensive surgery to try to remove it all. He has seen things that no child has ever seen before from being in the classroom that was shot in to.

This trip is something that Jaxson is looking forward to and I want to do everything that I can to assist him with making this possible. He needs to know it’s ok to be ok after such devastation.

My name is Sarah Beaver and I am trying to raise funds for my son, Jaxson Beaver, to go to London, UK with his marching band in 2025. Jaxson is going in to 9th grade and has always struggled socially. He has been diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety, and disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD), which is a condition in which children or adolescents experience ongoing irritability, anger, and frequent, intense temper outbursts. Jaxson struggled throughout middle school making friends and fitting in. I was unsure if he would be able to participate in marching band, but I wanted him to try because I knew all of the positives that would come from him participating in the marching band.

When band camp came, Jaxson was so excited! He had some struggles, but he was able to complete the entire 2 weeks and did AMAZING! Band has given him a huge confidence boost and I am so happy to see that he is enjoying this activity.

The Apalachee High School marching band got invited to attend the New Year's Day parade on January 1, 2026 in London, UK! This is such an amazing opportunity and I would love nothing more than to be able to let Jaxson go on this trip. The cost, however, is pretty large. The cost per person is $4,100, making the total $8,200 to cover me to be able to go with him as a chaperone. This cost includes airfare, hotel accommodations for 6 days, entry to various activities in and around London, and 2 meals a day while in London.
