Help Jay Costa beat Cancer

My name is Joe Dunham, and I'm organizing this GoFundMe for my partner of 20 years, my best friend, my whole world, the better half of JD Morse Detailing, Jay Costa. Anyone who has ever met Jay knows his smile is contagious! He is my biggest advocate, a man who thrives on helping others as much as he can, now needs our help more than ever!

Three years ago, Jay was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma and Drs removed a small tumor on his neck. Soon thereafter another tumor developed on his lower lip, resulting in removal of 68% of lower lip and reconstruction to restore function. Jays recovery was remarkable, only for cancer to return once again . After months of scans, and biopsies we now have a definitive diagnosis . Stage 3 invasive Squamous Cell carcinoma in lower right jaw that has metastasized in his lymph node, neck, and lower lip once again. A significant 5cm by 5cm tumor has attached and invaded jaw and nearby areas, and is growing at an alarming speed. Dr's at UCSF Precision jaw and neck cancer center have spent weeks developing a plan to remove, tumors as well as lymph nodes and large section of Jaw , rebuilding site by harvesting bone from fibula . Next skin grafting , followed by immunotherapy, radiation and chemotherapy for unspecified amount of time. Due to major surgery and loss of ability to speak , eat or breath on his own , Drs anticipate 8-12 months or more of healing and rehabilitation. This has caused a significant financial strain on Jay and I, and we are struggling to stay on top of everything.

Please, I'm asking everyone for help, so that I can give Jay the very best care , to ensure Jay has access to the recources needed to conquer this disease once and for all. Any contributions will be solely used for mounting medical expenses, treatment, recovery and rehabilitation as well as rent , utilities, nourishment, housing, and transportation for Jay so this recovery is stress free, as it can be.
