September Update: Help Jay Gates Fight

HELP JAY GATES FIGHT:
One of the 757's most versatile and energetic performers (and one overall upbeat friend of mine) is fighting Stage 3 cancer and could use our help.
BACKSTORY:
Diagnosed with melanoma in October 2020, Jay had surgery on his side and back (see pictures below) in December to remove its origin and his North and South sentinel lymph nodes. Though surgery was successful, tests came back on the removed lymph nodes POSITIVE FOR CANCER. This spread moved him from Stage 2 to Stage 3.
Jay's recent MRI and full body scan at the Sentara Brock Cancer Center at Norfolk General thankfully showed NO FURTHER METASTASIS. However, his doctors indicated the extensive immunotherapy treatments (radiation, chemotherapy, medicines, regular checkups, etc) could be needed for years to come if not longer.
Unfortunately, to top it off, during surgery, the medical staff discovered Jay had (and continues to have) an IRREGULAR HEARTBEAT. This diagnosis is completely separate from melanoma and has its own set of treatments, medications and expenses that Jay will additionally have to take on.
JAY GATES:
A PERFORMER THAT HELPS
As a stand up comic, voice talent, and film and television actor, Jay ALWAYS gives his all and he ALWAYS gives back: he has volunteered his time performing at countless benefit comedy shows at all of the main comedy clubs in Virginia's 757 for the past 20+ years. Additionally, he ALWAYS guides actors and voiceover talents with his great insight and suggestions when they record auditions at his home studio.
Simply put, Jay is a dude that helps ANY show with his talent AND helps ANY performer improve their craft.
THE REALITY:
As expected, Jay is still STAYING POSITIVE with his prognosis despite BEING HOBBLED (and humbled) from his December surgery. Like every full-time performer, Jay's gig work has been DRASTICALLY REDUCED because of Covid.
These circumstances are making this challenging ordeal EVEN MORE CHALLENGING as his long term medical expenses grow indefinitely.
This is where WE CAN HELP.
DONATIONS ARE APPRECIATED:
By helping Jay, 100% of your contributions will help relieve ONE of the MANY STRESSES he is facing as he moves forward. In six months or so, an update will be given here on his progress and health.
But in the meantime....let's
HELP JAY GATES FIGHT.
Thank you again for taking the time to read about my friend's situation and thanks, in advance, for your support.
