Help Jay Overcome a Vision Hurdle
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I am currently an AFROTC cadet with a dream of becoming a pilot for the US Air Force. I’ve worked tirelessly, physically, mentally, and academically, to earn my place in the officer selection process. My hard work thus far has paid off very well. Every early morning workout, every late-night study session, and every leadership challenge has been in service of one goal: to fly, serve, and protect the people of our nation.
Recently, however, I was dealt a sudden and heartbreaking blow. I received a flying medical disqualification due to my vision. Without corrective surgery, I will not be able to continue on this path. The clock is ticking, and I’ve been given a very short window, just 2 months, to get PRK eye surgery and submit documentation to reverse the disqualification. This surgery is my last and only chance. Without it, my journey toward becoming an Air Force pilot could come to an end before it even begins.
Unfortunately, the cost of PRK surgery is steep and not covered by the military since I am not currently on Active Duty orders. As a full-time student balancing cadet duties, part-time work, and academics, I simply do not have the means to cover this completely out of pocket in such a short amount of time. That’s why I’m reaching out with a humble heart to ask for your help. The estimated cost is $5,000. Every donation, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to keeping this dream alive.
Your support doesn’t just fund a medical procedure. It gives me a fighting chance to serve this country in the way I’ve always dreamed: making a difference from the cockpit of an Air Force jet.
Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for standing by me.
I promise to always carry your support.
