Please help Jay to get his LIFE SAVING Medication!

Hey there everyone,

I’m writing this while my head is spinning from trying to understand how this has happened to my 57 year old big brother.  Without his medication he is literally staring death in the face. The mortality rate without treatment is 90%. I am not ready for that, nor is his wife of 35 years. (And others I am sure…)

Before the onset (a little over 2 months ago) of what has been diagnosed as Colonic Histoplasmosis, my brother was living a life he loved. He was healthy, working 2 jobs, actively involved in a few local Jeep groups that consistently give to multiple nonprofits, local and national.

He is a blue collar kinda guy. Has his CDL and drives a truck for a living.  He was also working with a friend to repo cars.

He is the kind of guy that goes out in inclement weather conditions looking for stranded drivers who need help getting out asof a ditch, or off the road to a safe location… he doesn’t ask for payment, doesn’t expect anything from someone he has helped.

He helps
out people who are having car problems and can’t afford to get it fixed. He helps fellow Jeepers with modding their Jeeps. He helps in all sorts of ways in repairing appliances, installing appliances and hauling off old appliances for people who can’t afford to hire a professional.

What he really needs is financial assistance for existing medical bills dating back 2 - 2 1/2 months. He needs help to get the life saving medication that he has to have to survive this horrible fungal infection that has invaded his entire colon. The infection is a result of spores being disrupted which most often is found in dirt. As a truck driver he often pulls a flat trailer hauling equipment as well as driving a dump truck. We can only speculate that he was exposed while performing his job duties as a truck driver.

As he awaits an appointment with an infectious disease specialist, his PCP wanted to start him on Itraconazole 10mg/ml solution so start combating the rampant infection, ads but the oral solution was $1800 a month, and keep in mind that he needs it for 12 months. We were able to get the doctor to agree to change the prescription to pills because they are substantially less expensive, but it also takes longer for it to start working. And without treatment, there is a 90% mortality rate. The pills are $220 per month and still he cannot afford to get them. I have looked and looked for any coupons or manufacturer cost savings without success.

And lastly, he bought a used car about 6 months ago and cannot afford it since he has not been able to work for 10 weeks. It is the only running vehicle they have and without it he could not get to his medical appointments, grocery store or pharmacy. And his wife would lose her labor of love job at a very small local library in a small rural area. The car payment is a reasonable $300 a month.

Trust me when I say every single donation, regardless of the amount accumulates and adds up!

I will personally manage all donations and they will only be spent on his direct medical expenses, medication and to save their only operational vehicle.

I am more than willing to provide medical details, as well as payment information and progress updates to what should be a full recovery with total restoration. Depending on the details that are requested, the update may be provided in a private communication instead of just out in the public domain.

We are so thankful for all of these things:
A) any amount you feel you can donate
B) all prayers
C) chants
D) well wishes

So many thanks!
